I'm a big fan of movies, which all my friends know, and I'm definitely not a big fan of Ebert & Roeper, or Siskel for that matter. I don't have a problem with them, just their views on movies. I realize they're educated in film and have seen way more movie than I ever will, but I think they're a little too harsh.
Movies are meant as entertainment, so if I enjoy a movie...then I think it was good. Them on the other hand, they rip it to shreds: "oh the acting stunk, the cinematography was blah..." and so on. I don't see the point.
This is why I'm starting this so that I can give my own critique of movies. I thought about the best way to go about this since I own so many movies (well I think I own a lot, I know people own way more than I do). Should I write about the movies I own or just new movies I see? Deb and I decided new movies would be best. Who wants to hear about movies they've probably already seen? Great point Deb!
I just want to say that in no way am I any expert with movies. I've just seen a lot, and the movies I have seen I've seen many times. My one talent that my friends and I all agree on is that I can name what movie a song is from and what part of the movie it's from (as long as I've seen the movie of course), so that's all I'm an expert on. Anyways, hope everyone enjoys and if you don't like my critique, well everyone has their own opinion, obviously, which is why I've started this blog.
Ciao!
